Overview
Equipped with a waterproof polyester backing and proprietary 3M microreplication technology, 3Mâ„¢ Trizactâ„¢ PSA Film Disc 268XA is specially designed for polishing and finishing applications.

The Difference Is in the Construction
We chose a polyester film backing for 3Mâ„¢ Trizactâ„¢ PSA Film Disc 268XA, because it is water-resistant and can be run wet or dry. This disc is commonly used for damp sanding on a variety of substrates, including acrylic products, solid surface materials, and glass. Using a lubricant like water helps the disc run cool and wash away debris that could warp or discolor the substrate. Depending on the project or application, 3Mâ„¢ Trizactâ„¢ PSA Film Disc 268XA typically is used during the middle of a sequence to help bring the workpiece one step closer to the matte, semi-gloss or high gloss finish desired. While it may be run damp, the disc requires little water for effective results.
3Mâ„¢ Trizactâ„¢ PSA Film Disc 268XA uses 3M microreplication technology to produce an engineered surface of patterned, microscopic, three-dimensional structures resembling pyramids. While conventionally coated abrasives often have erratically spaced mineral, Trizactâ„¢ abrasives focus on uniformity. As pyramids wear, fresh, sharp mineral is exposed to produce a consistent cut and a predictable, fine finish. Altogether, this means fewer scraps and discards as a consequence of inconsistent results. Ongoing sharp cutting action minimizes the need to incorporate other abrasives in the sequence, thereby reducing processing steps and enhancing productivity.

PSA Attachment
The pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) on the back of 3Mâ„¢ Trizactâ„¢ PSA Film Disc 268XA helps facilitate easy disc to tool attachment. Attaching them to your disc pad is as simple as pressing on a sticker. The PSA disc can be peeled off of the disc pad just as easily, leaving a clean surface for your next disc. Disc rolls offer the convenience of quickly tearing off a disc and eliminate the need to remove individual disc liners. PSA discs are used in conjunction with a PSA or 3Mâ„¢ Stikitâ„¢ backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a random orbital sander.

Great Versatility
3Mâ„¢ Trizactâ„¢ PSA Film Disc 268XA is available in a range of grades A5 to A35, so operators can choose the right grade for their unique application; the lower the A-grade, the finer the grade. So, operators should select a smaller grade, like A5, for a fine finish and a larger grade, like A35, for a coarser finish. Discs are color-coded by grade, to reduce the risk of mistakenly selecting the wrong grade in a sequence.
Regardless of the grade selected, operators can rely on great performance with this 3M™ Trizact™ disc – using it as a go-to abrasive for fast cutting action and consistent finishes, part after part.
