About manufacturer
Southwire

Southwire has been a family-owned business stretching all the way back nearly 100 years to 1937 when Roy Richards started his own business installing power poles near his home with the goal of bringing electricity to his grandmother’s home. After serving in World War II, Richards saw another opportunity – wiring – when he noticed that many of the power poles he had installed were still unwired. The solution, of course, was to produce the needed wire himself and so with a few employees, Southwire was started. Since they began in 1950, Southwire has expanded their business and helped drive innovation all while keeping the mindset of a family-owned business ensuring quality every step of the way.
